Beautiful BUT....
Beautiful coat but fit was way off for me. The arm length is VERY long and no way to keep them from hanging loosely down. Also the hip area was a bit tight for me. I ordered a 2x. A size up or down would not help based upon my sizing issues.

Perfect Versatile, Warm, Comfortable Coat
Looked for a long time to find the right combination of warmth, fit, fabric and style features after LL Bean stopped making the insulated barn coats ( had several over 20 years!!)....even trying other brands and always disappointed.
This coat hits all the requirements for me.

Warm and comfortable
This is a fantastic coat. I’ve been wearing it in the recent 40-50 degree weather in Michigan. The water beads up on the waxed outer layer. The coat is somewhat heavy but that is expected with the material used. Great quality & 100% would recommend.

Very Nice Coat
I just received this down filled, quilted coat. While I would normally wait to review a garment until after it’s been worn, I want to pass some information along.
First of all, it’s very well made, with many nice details. The loden color is deep, the quilting is even, there is brown corduroy trim, a substantial two-way zipper, and the lining is black and not navy as it appears in the product photo.
Second of all, the outer fabric does not appear to be waxed. I own a waxed barn-style jacket and it looks nothing like the fabric of this coat. A sewn in label and an outside paper label say the tightly woven, cotton fabric is by the British Millerain Company. The fabric is matte and must be coated with something to make it water resistant.
Thirdly, I am 5’3”, 135lbs, pear shaped, and normally wear Petite. I was worried about the fit of this coat. After some deliberation, I got a Medium and I am glad I did. A small would have been too narrow at my hip. The shoulders and torso are just wide enough for a heavy sweater. This is not an oversized fit. I have to turn up the sleeves an inch or two, but it looks just fine.
Fourthly: There are two sets of pockets.Vertical, fleece lined hand warmer pockets at the abdomen, and double pockets with flaps and side entry at the hip. These double pockets are too small to be really useful, they barely fit my hand.
All in all, this is a nice coat. I don’t know how rain proof or warm it will be, but I’ll check in later once the weather turns cold.
