We used it to make these attractive lightweight pants that are ideal for both the field and for casual wear. They're versatile enough to wear every day.

A Long Overdue Product!
It's been a multi-year struggle for me to find lightweight wool pants and I certainly didn't expect L.L. Bean to (finally) offer them. Why did it take so extremely long?
The advertised fit is Standard Fit and I was worried it would be close to slim fit. Fortunately, this isn't the case as there's a fair amount of space around my legs and I definitely consider them regular fit. These pants are soft and I truly imagine they're right for regular or mild conditions. For your information, the label says "recycled wool".
The Maine Guide Lightweight Wool Pants can be a wool lover's dream due to the extremely limited options available on the market, but they don't get a full five stars from me. The number of cargo pants need to be doubled and I can only wonder why only one is installed. I'm more cash-oriented than most and I don't like its style because it'll be inconvenient reaching for the right bills because the zipper is below the top. Furthermore, if the pocket is unzipped, it could partly expose its contents... I recommend either relocating the zipper to the very top or installing a flap. The side pockets feel a bit shallow when I put my hands into them and I say more depth should be added lest the contents slip out at some point...
I hope L.L. Bean considers the above recommendations and will soon introduce more colors.

Out of stock when I remember that I need them
The heavy weight pants were out of stock when I remembered that I needed another pair, but this year it helped me to discover these fantastic wool pants. Initially I had mixed feelings about the cargo pocket and zippered back pockets, but now I’m just appreciative of their ability to not lose things. Thank goodness they had some in stock in my size. Great pants!
