Our iconic 1980 Blue Rock Sweater was so good, we had to bring it back twice - once for the launch of our original L.L.Bean Signature line, and again this season. Made of 100% wool that's toasty warm without feeling too heavy, with a rich heritage look.
Originally inspired by Norwegian sweaters and knit from soft, substantial 100% wool, our 1980 Blue Rock Sweater was an instant classic. We reinterpreted it (and renamed it) with a more modern fit during the launch of our L.L.Bean Signature line in 2010, while making sure to keep the same authentic details as the original. Turns out we love it just as much now as we always have--proving that some things truly never go out of style.

Great Looking
This wool sweater is very warm and great looking. I usually combine it with a half-mock turtleneck underneath (wool can be itchy, especially around your neck). Finding the right combo with it is essential for comfort.

Excellent. The neck opening may be a teeny bit too wide, but I like it that way. Perfect over a tee for 55 degrees and below. Nice weight and knit. A classic.
