Wow this a great shirt ! I bought two of them. Three layers of wool on the shoulders, three layers of wool on the forearms, triple stitched. This shirt has it all. The 85/15 blend is definitely the sweet spot for wool clothing. It’s soft against the skin but still acts like wool. I didn’t love the pockets at first because they were stiff and kind of messed up the profile of the shirt, but the material loosened up and softened after a few weeks. Now the pockets might be my favorite feature. They give you three layers of material in the front where it counts and they add a lot to the wind resistance of this shirt. Also you can put your hands and other stuff in them.

An Upscale, Natural Fiber Alternative to a Fleece.
I purchased this wool shirt/jacket in the navy blue color. It's got a real classic-look when worn as a jacket with medium shade brown leather gloves. It is extremely warm, and perfect for wear around town over a casual plaid shirt or turtle neck. Paired with cords or jeans, it makes for a great up-scale, natural fiber alternative to the run-of-the-mill fleece. The stealthy side pockets are deep enough to accommodate a cell phone or a pair of leather gloves. I've received multiple compliments from folks in your local cafe, and while on weekend jaunts. I bought this wool shirt/jacket one size larger for a looser fit, which drapes nicely when buttoned up over a collared shirt. It also has a two-button cuff for comfortable adjustment. It's become my go-to favorite and can be dressed up or down, depending the upon shirt, pants and shoes worn with it. The navy blue would be my pick, hands down, and this should be an item LL Bean keeps in its inventory as a perennial signature item. It's a winner!

Great shirt jacket
I’ve been looking for a CPO jacket. It was issued to seamen in the Navy. This looked close and although it’s a lighter wool it’s pretty close. I use it as a top layer over a sweater and love it. Plan to wear it for a long long time.

I bought this wool shirt jack 3 weeks ago and I’ve been wearing it every single day I go out as my outer layer. If you’re into natural fibers that keep you warm and perfectly cozy, don’t think twice. It’s by far my favorite outer clothing to wear. Now, LL Ean, can you make it in more colors so I can buy another one please? I suggest army green or thyme and camel or Barley.
