Terrific hot weather adventure pants
I purchased three pairs of these pants for travel, first for a 10 day trip through Morocco (high temp was 114 degrees) and for a safari in Kenya next year. I looked at pairs of pants from Kuhl, Prana, Columbia and others, but took a chance on these as they were specifically for hot temperatures and I've never been let down by LL Bean products. I can wholeheartedly recommend these pants. They are ventilated and the fabric breathes very well. The pockets are well made and are clearly well thought out. Recommendation: there are two thigh pockets, but only the left one has a zipper closure. I wish the right one had a zipper closure as well. They kept my legs covered from the sun and from itchy saddle blankets when riding camels in the Sahara (those wearing shorts were not happy). And though 114 degrees in Marrakesh was not comfortable at all, these pants certainly were better than anything else I could have worn. I purchased a 32 waist, 34 inseam and they run true to size. I really wear a 33 inseam (so 32 is too short) and though they are a bit long on me they are slightly tapered and cover my ankles well. I think they look a little too "adventure" for everyday casual wear, but if you go for a sporty look, with a polo, they will be fine.
