A Jacket that Fits at Last
A Petite Medium fit perfectly despite my large shoulders and not so skinny arms. I really appreciate Bean's Petites. I could probably wear a medium weight sweater under it. A large would have been too big in the body. Overall, it has a nice feel to it, comfortable, easy to take on and off, warm pocket linings. The inner sleeve cuffs are cozy and warm. Plus I can quickly snap one snap to secure and not have to mess with the zipper. While some have complained about the large hood with good reason, I have to say that when it's down, it adds something to the style, except for those velcro flaps that look weird. I may have to find a way to tack them back. It doesn't get cold enough here to need that level of face protection. I agree with the complaints about the pocket size. My cell fits into the exterior pockets, but I'd like to see it slightly deeper. The inner pockets will fit my cell but it's a squeeze. Paperwhite is one of my favorite winter colors and looks gorgeous in this jacket. It might get dirty while working outdoors, but for wearing to and from winter gatherings, it's a little more dressy than blues and blacks. I saw the spruce in the mid-thigh version of this and thought it would be beautiful in this--hint, hint. Overall, I love it!

Not the LL Bean It Used To Be!
It's sad how much L.L. Bean's quality has deteriorated. The jacket is thin without much warmth - it certainly isn't ultrawarm and I couldn't even feel a bit warmer when I tried it on inside the house. The pocket lining is very thin and the interior pockets are useless. To make matters worse, no one thought to remove or change the price tag showing $199 when it now costs $220! It's definitely not worth either amount. I returned it right away and bought a much nice jacket from another retailer.

Same LLBean Excellence
Warm! And four pockets to hold cell phone, wallet and other things. Attractive to wear. I love the snaps and zipper front. But since I usually wear heavy sweaters in winter, I had to go up two sizes. My size was way too tight for layering. Like my other LLBean outerwear, I expect to be wearing this for years.

Great jacket.
This jacket is lightweight but very warm. I took the fur collar off, too bulky. Maroon color is rather odd. I bought a large although I wear a medium top. This gives a comfortable fit while wearing a heavy sweater.

not a bad jacket but some things to consider
First off, this is a nice jacket. I do not feel the wind when outside. It is extremely thin and lightweight. I was still warm inside. I like how the sleeves are designed so they do not allow the wind and cold to go upside the jacket as an entry point. What I dislike about the jacket is there is no real useful inside pocket. The pocket there looks like its meant to hold some pens? Maybe LLBean is thinking for your lipstick or mascara? I do not find the inside pocket handy. The inside pocket is long and thin, so if I wanted to store keys there, not going to be useful. Too small for a small cell phone even. Not wide enough to put other items inside. I would have also preferred an inside breast pocket. I still have a Cabela's goosedown jacket I bought back in 2008. That is still one of the best designed jackets I've ever owned. The other thing I am disliking about this jacket is placement of the side pockets. They are high placed. Which is odd. The photo's don't suggest this placement. It might be that mine is a manufacturing error or the outside pockets are meant to be placed in that position. It's not exactly a deal breaker but I'd encourage going into the store to try on the jacket and not change online ordering for this one if you can avoid it. I bought mine in a large regular. If I didn't know better I'd think it was a large petite. I might check out the measurements again in case this is a large petite and maybe mislabeled as large regular.

Almost perfect.
Our area has had some seriously cold temps this month. This parka has fended off most of the chill and wind chill. But it is not totally impervious. The parka is comfortable and easy to wear. I'm glad i have it.

Cozy in winter!
This jacket is plenty warm, light and well made. I appreciate the 2-way zipper when in the car. Fit and arm length is perfect for me. I am very happy with my purchase.
