Not true to size. I wear a 38 and these shorts were definitely smaller (couldn’t get them buttoned).

Typical third world tailoring.
On me the waist of the shorts rides way above my natural waist, the rise is just too high especially for short inseam shorts. The proportions throughout the shorts are quite peculiar, baggy here, tight there. These shorts are uncomfortable and very disappointing especially for the price. Forced to pick a fitment below but none are accurate.

A Solid Pair of Shorts
I had previously bought two pairs of these, and I needed another pair. LL Bean has made some good changes. I like the buttons on the back pockets, and the change in fabric. Also, they have a little more roomier cut, making them more comfortable. I'm looking forward to getting years of wear out of these.
