Introduced as Bean's Ice Carrier way back in 1944, the Boat and Tote was billed as a bag made of builders' canvas for hauling ice "from car to ice chest." Today you can spot our iconic tote doing heavy lifting everywhere - from the grocery store to the beach, to the library and commuter train. Tested to hold up to 500 pounds, it'll carry more than you can carry. We promise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and functional I bought this tote bag because I carry a small cross body bag and I use the tote to carry the cross body as well as other items like tissues, books, sunglasses. I can leave the tote in the car when shopping and use my small bag. I have tried other totes but appreciate the sturdiness of Bean totes. It stands up to repeated use. It keeps its shape and it just looks so very nice. It is easy to carry and the smaller size is perfect for my needs.
