Since 1944, we've been making our iconic Boat and Tote in Maine. The same way. Our only way. First introduced as "Bean's Ice Carrier," it's proudly stitched by a dedicated team from high-quality American cotton canvas, with a reinforced canvas bottom and rugged overlapped seams. When it's finished, you'll be able to tell it's an L.L.Bean original by the signature "V-point" detail on both sides. We make your tote one at a time here in Brunswick, Maine. Then it's your turn to make it your own.

Heavy-duty 24 oz. cotton canvas is made in the USA.
Overlapped seams are double-stitched with nylon so they won't rot or break.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LisaA from Best quality! Love the sturdy tote bags. Love the quality of the tote bags. They are just genuine tough! Most of the bags. here in NC are so flimsy. While visiting in upstate NY, my niece suggested since I paint, to do something on a tote bag. So I did! They turn out so cute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LisaA from The Best Bags To Paint On! I've been painting some canvas totes on recommendation that LL Bean were the best. I absolutely believe that. I'm from North Carolina and there aren't any stores here. I've found a few in a local sports store, but I've ordered most to paint on. Hopefully I can sell them here in NC and introduce LL Bean to this crowd. I'd love to show you what I've painted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by noha from quality downgrade from my parents versions i was super excited to order these bags and expected the ll bean quality of the bags my parents had from the 80s/90s these are not it. the canvas is half as thin and the stitching uses super thin thread. idk where ill find a bag like my parents ll bean tote but i will continue my search
