Rework is worth every penny
I find I wear my Bean boots everyday as I take a morning walk with my lab in a dew soaked field. I don't know how old my shoes are but i think 15-20 years. Today i decided to put some mink oil on the tops along with a newer pair I bought when I sent this pair in for repairs---that has been almost two years ago. I can't tell them apart. There is virtually no wear on the soles as most all of my use is in fields.
There is no reason a person should ever buy such a boot from anyone other than Bean.

Needs re-engineering
The shoe was disappointing, in that the tongue is way too wide and bunches up in an unsightly and uncomfortable way, as it puts a lot of pressure on the top of the foot. BTW, I wear an 8.5 shoe size, and needed to drop down to a 7.5 for length to fit, and it was still a touch long.

Bean boots
so far these boots are as comfortable as my old Bean boots and they lasted for almost 40 years. I'm 72 years old now so the new ones don't have to last that long but I bet I can pass them on to the next generation!
