Product Details
Our heaviest-weight flannel--first introduced by our founder nearly a century ago. Made of thick chamois fabric that's warmer than ordinary flannel, it's a shirt, light jacket and essential layer all in one.
First developed by our founder, "L.L.", in 1927, our legendary heavyweight flannel has been relied on by generations ever since as the gold standard of warmth and comfort. It's made of our thickest flannel fabric, expertly woven just for us in Portugal and brushed for exceptional softness. If you're looking for the original chamois shirt, you've found it--in the same iconic style with authentic angled pockets.

- Expertly brushed eight times on each side for exceptional softness.
- Machine wash and dry.
- Double-stitched seams for toughness.

Two of the four chamois shirts I've bought since 2022 have ripped out at the elbow in normal use. Unfortunately, these shirts don't exemplify the quality we used to ascribe to LL Bean.

Great color and material!
Such a beautiful green color I purchased for my husband for our holiday photos coming up. It’s a great, deep moody color. The texture and material is great as well, even better than described. It’s very sturdy and I believe he will get many great wears out of it before showing any signs of wear. It’s a great casual to semi dressy shirt. 10/10 delivery and 10/10 on exchange from XXL tall to XL Tall.

Good fit and no button down collar, so rare now!
With an oncoming early fall and colder days i was looking for a warmer shirt. I will not wear button down collar shirts and these days spread collar shirts at L.L.Bean are hard to find. This shirt meets my needs, fits me well and I'm glad I found it.
