[00:00:09.00] Hi, I'm Sara. I'm a footwear design manager at L.L.Bean, and today we're going to talk about the Wicked Good slippers. If you ever wondered why they call them wicked good, here in Maine, that means they're the best of the best. While L.L.Bean has been making slippers for over 100 years, the Wicked Goods were introduced in the 1990s. It's really cool to be a part of an icon, like the Wicked Good slippers. To work on how that looks and feels going forward as we evolve these types of styles is a really exciting thing to be a part of.

[00:00:39.78] The workroom here, this is where ideas of products come to life. There's a merchant team that helps create the direction. And then design works hand in hand with merchants and also development team who helps create some of the attributes, make sure all the constructions are working properly, and we're getting the look and feel that we want. Whatever your style is, we have the best slippers, period. And we have something for everyone in the family.

[00:01:03.74] Let's go over some of the iconic features found in the Wicked Good slippers. These slippers have this genuine shearling lining that goes all the way through, even to the sock liner. This is what really sets our slippers apart from the rest. It's a real natural product, super soft and super warm for any type of wearing occasion. And all the uppers are made from suede or nubuck, the soft, pliable material that molds to your foot. The Wicked collection has real materials, they're not synthetic, and the minute you put them on, you're going to feel that difference.

[00:01:36.06] We also have this rubber tread sole, which just gives you a little bit extra traction when you need it. And then this beautiful little leather lace that gives some adjustability when you're looking at the fit of the shoe.

[00:01:47.56] The whole Wicked collection has a lot of different styles, but there's one thing that always stays the same, which is the materials and the amazing comfort inside the shoe.

[00:01:55.80] All right, Sara, I have some fun customer reviews for you to read.

[00:01:59.47] [READING] "Have bought and worn the same slipper for the last 40 years. What does that tell you? One, I'm a really boring guy who just likes comfort and ease, and two, it's a really great slipper."

[00:02:11.06] I don't think you're boring. I just think you have really great taste. Thanks for watching another Behind The Design video. If you want to see more of these, please hit the Like and Subscribe button down below.

What Makes a Slipper "Wicked Good"?

Here in New England, “wicked good” means “the best of the best” – and that’s precisely why the term can only apply to our shearling slippers. Others have tried to imitate the legendary comfort and quality of our Wicked Goods, but nothing else has come close. You just won’t find slippers like these anywhere else.

It all starts with the shearling. Blissfully soft, exceptionally cozy, and 100% genuine, the second you slip your feet inside these slippers you’ll feel the difference. Our shearling slippers are so welcoming it feels like they are giving your feet a warm hug – and that’s a feeling you’ll want to keep coming back to.
