Our founder, L.L., first introduced genuine handsewn mocs 100 years ago in 1926, and we've made them better than ever before. We added a more flexible insole and upgraded the foam underfoot for immediate comfort right out of the box. A new leather sock liner molds to your foot over time for custom comfort and a barefoot feel. And new, high-quality leathers that start out comfy and get better the more you wear them.

Very small and narrow for size
Waiting for proper size restock. First pair was very small for the same size I’ve worn for years.
Very disappointed that the Allagash Bison shoes have been discontinued, that was what I was trying to replace.

Excellent Shoes!
I’ve had several pairs of these shoes over the years and love them for casual wear. I am not a big fan of sneakers and prefer a grown up style of footwear. The fit as always is spot on and the quality is impeccable.

You pulled me back in! Black please too
I had several pair of Bean blucher moccasins for during 2 decades and then stopped buying them for several reasons. When I saw that they were back as handsewns, I went to the local LL Bean to check them out. Once I determined that thet were, in fact, quality shoes like I used to wear, I bought a pair. I have left the higher heel, thicker sole of the present day casual shoes because it felt like I had less connection with the ground I was walking. When I put them on for the first time, I immediately remembered why I loved them so much back in the day. They are, very simply, very easy to walk in using the natual gait and toe/heal footstrike that nature intended. Thanks LL Bean for bringing them back in a high qualty manner. There is one big negative, however. They are not offered in black leather! Please have a BLACK LEATHER option available! I will be among the first to buy a pair.
