Product Details
Our most popular medium rolling duffle, loved since 1996 for its durability, fun colors and great price. Made of rugged, water-resistant fabrics, with a U-shaped zipper that opens wider for easier access. Meets most airline carry-on requirements.
Our best-ever Rolling Adventure Duffle, recently redesigned using customer feedback, product reviews and tests from our own in-house lab. We chose a rugged fabric that's just as strong as before. Next, we packed it with improvements, including a wider opening that lets you easily see what's inside and a durable base that allows it to stand upright. Available in sizes and colors for every member of the family!
- Waterproof fabrics. Zippers and seams not waterproof.
- 600-denier polyester on body, with 1000-denier polyester on base that's twice as abrasion resistant for added durability.
- PFC/PFAS-free durable water repellent (DWR).
- Coated interior for added weather protection; tested for 24 hours in our deep freeze with no signs of cracking, flaking or peeling.
- Spot clean.
- Roomy main compartment.
- U-shaped zippered opening offers 50% more access to contents inside.
- Grab handles at either end for easy maneuvering, with low-profile lash points and one rigid handle that helps stabilize bag.
- Zipper flap adds weather protection.
- Features small L.L.Bean logo on either side of bag.
- Redesigned with a durable base that allows it to stand upright while traveling.
- Handles have wrap closure for comfortable carrying.
- Outside zip pocket.

Does the trick super well, except handle length
The handle is maybe an inch too short for me, which is a super bummer since it's a pretty fantastic bag after my first two week trip.
I bought this as a second bag in addition to my one-bag backpack. I don't like big, heavy bags as I don't want to fumble with them as I move around obstacles. I want to bound up stairs, use escalators instead of elevators and switch to carry mode on a seconds notice.
This allows all of that.
It is less convenient than a 4 wheel bag but that's an acceptable trade-off for much better wheels.
I did get an orange bag strap to match the accents to make it stand out and use zip ties on the zippers to keep it inconvenient to open to opportunistic na'er-do-wells.
For the price, this is a screaming deal if you use packing cubes and travel light..

Nice size and convenient.
Bought this bag because our usual carry-on bags were slightly larger than allowed by Icelandair. They have a smaller maximum size for their bags. This bag was somewhat larger than allowed but it’s soft so it could be squished into the bin that bags had to fit.
