This authentic sporting jacket is a time-tested favorite. Heavy-duty Nor'easter cotton canvas has a durable water-resistant treatment that protects you from rain and snow, but comes prewashed for a broken in feel. Put this coat on, step outside, and you're ready for anything.

A time honored coat that goes with anything
My last barn coat was show its age about 30 years. I wanted a new warmer replacement as I age so turned to LL Bean for the comfort, look, and warm coat to last me another 20 or 30 years. I will probably not out last this great coat.

Good Coat. Used to be great.
This is my 4th one of these since I bought my 1st one in the ‘90s. Outer shell is still sufficient.
Wool liner used to have complete thinsulate lining instead of just sleeves. (My old liner is on its third shell). 2 buttons came off in 1st week, but I sewed them back on. This coat is all I wear in the winter. I wish LL Bean respected it as much as I do and leaned in to maintain its quality.

Well built and holds up over time!
I got this coat many many years ago. I wondered if they still made it, so I looked it up and ended up here. I can't say enough good things about this coat. We've been through it together and it's held up far better than I have. After years of heavy use it only looks better. The seams and buttons are perfect. This one will definitely outlast me so I won't need another but it is such a great gift for people.

Almost great!
Nice coat, I wish it had a stand up collar or inner collar like a mock neck. If its cold enough to wear this coat, my neck will be cold too and no one wants multiple items just to keep their neck warm!

Quality has Fallen Off Dramatically
Like others, I had major issues with the buttons falling off after only a few wears. This is the second L.L. Bean coat I've owned. The difference in about a decade is remarkable.
I sincerely hope they fix their quality issues—despite being a loyal customer for many years, I'm going to think twice before buying anything from L.L. Bean again. What a disappointment!

Warm, durable & properly sized
I ordered a Medium Tall and it fits perfectly. Plenty of room to layer over a sweater or fleece. It is wind-proof and very warm. I also appreciate the wool and cotton natural fibers. It is heavier than my other coats but you won't notice the weight when you are wearing it. Glad I ordered it.

Bad Quality - Buyer Beware
I bought this coat less than a month ago and all of the buttons have since fallen off I am returning due to poor quality. Beware of this coat and do not buy as the quality is not the same as what they used to offer.
