OK. Hope longevity is not a problem
I wear 9 1/2 W which is what I purchased. While the width is perfect, seems bit too long, but I am keeping them as 9W might be too tight. Shoes fit if I lace them up tight. Hardly worn, but sole is beginning to wear out . Worrying.

Suede Bucksport Size Unequal to Regular Bucksport
I own and very much like the "regular" Men's Bucksport Leather Plain Toe Shoe that I purchased in an L.L. Bean retails store, so I was excited to discover the suede version on the Bean website. I enthusiastically ordered a pair of Men's Suede Bucksports in the same size (8M) as the leather Bucksports that I've been wearing for several months, assuming the fit would be equivalent. It is not. The Suede 8M Bucksports feel smaller in all respects: length, width and instep. I am returning them in exchange for an 8.5M, hoping that the half-size difference will resolve my disappointment. Otherwise, they are attractive, handsome shoes that I am excited to add to my wardrobe.

Time will tell
It had been a while since I ordered a true L L Bean shoe. I forgot that they tend to run big. I ordered a 12 and it feels like I might have been just fine with an 11 1/2. I feel like a heavier sock might be an answer. Time will tell. Also, the last pair of Bean shoes with Vibram soles wore out faster than I thought they should, looking for an improvement there. I have only worn them a few times, but people have commented that they look very good on me.

Too ugly for daily casual wear
It could well be that these shoes will feel comfortable to many and provide years of reliable service — if so, the price seems right. However, they are simply too hideous to be worn about town; the stubby profile is one that could be expected from workshop, tip re-enforced safety footgear.

Stiff sole
The vibram sole is rigid and will not bend when I step. So the shoe comes off the heel.
