Original pocket design needs to return
Great pants but the old pocket design made them functional for the vast majority that need a secure cell phone location. The design needs to be corrected.

Glad I read the reviews!
I have purchased many pair of the Riverton pants over the years. I love the cell phone pocket on the right and a bottle of water fits perfectly in the zipper pocket on the left. I too will be waiting for a redesign before purchasing these pants.

New Design, maybe not so great
I too liked the old design better. The cell phone pocket on the right leg was higher, more forward and a snug fit. The new pocket, on the left is lower, farther back and loose, which I suppose is better for the newer and larger phones. I also liked the flaps on the rear pockets. I was confident I could go cycling without losing my phone or wallet. I'm not so sure about the new style. I imagine I'll get used to it, but I hate fixing things that ain't broke!

Why ruin a good thing
The originals were the best. I’ve purchased multiple pairs and love them. Sad to see them go I will not be purchasing your redesigned pair. I’m glad I read the comments first #BringBackTheGoodones.

Ruined the design
Way to go LL Bean - you had a good looking pant but instead of simply selling it, you paid someone to redesign it and now it has a sew line across the thighs that makes it look like a cheap convertible that unzips to shorts. No thanks!

Disappointed with new design
I loved the old design & had purchased numerous pairs of Riverton. Was disappointed to receive the new version and find that some designer decided to move the cell phone pocket from the right to the left side. Only a small percentage of the population is left handed… was the designer a lefty?! Thanks to muscle memory, when I put on an old classic pair of Riverton, I’m looking for a phone pocket that isn’t there! Plus, the small left hand zip pocket (that you’ve removed) was my go to storage space for travel… small wallet, cash etc.. Who needs a giant zip pocket on the rear end?! Not many I know carry a huge wallet back there anymore… bad for the back. Please bring back the original design!

Bring Back the Original Riverton Pants
The original Riverton pant have been my go to pant for years. The 36W/30L fit me like a glove and I absolutely love them.
Two weeks ago, I bought the updated version of these pants, and I couldn't be more disappointed with the fit. I purchased the Peppercorn and Toasted Coconut colors in size 36W/30L. The Peppercorn pair was about an inch too big in the waist, while the Toasted Coconut was a bit tight. How does that happen?
The overall fit and look of the pants isn't as comfortable or stylish as the original design. I don't understand why apparel companies feel the need to change something that was already successful. I realize that marketing teams want to make their presence known and justify their roles, but changes like these often have the opposite effect—long-time buyers like myself end up abandoning the style and switching to a competitor.
Please bring back the origin design, it was a winner!
