For me - perfect length and warmth!
So far so good on this coat although I've only had three types of midwest weather so far. Great length and I love this color. Works for business and pleasure as it's not too sporty nor too formal. I'm struggling to get used to the zipper, but that might be just me.

This coat is just right for a commute on chilly, drizzly days. The fabric is a little stiff, BUT it cuts the wind and light rain so I'm warm and dry when it's in the 40's with a wind. If I regret that I didn't want to mess my hair with a hat, the hood keeps my head warm and dry - and I'm not wrestling an umbrella in the wind. I read reviews about the armscye being tight, and that proves true. It's tight enough in the pits and upper arm that you can't wear a fleece layer or a thick sweater comfortably. A merino wool layer works. The coat is warm enough on it's own that I don't have to add an extra layer to stay warm when the weather isn't that cold. I have an Ultra Warm Long Coat for when it's below freezing.
This coat does exactly what I wanted it to do when it's cold enough for a real coat but not cold enough for a full length parka. BTW, after three years of consistent wear, the Ultra Warm Long Coat looks great and handles blizzard conditions.

The almost perfect winter coat
I have just purchased my second Winter Warmer coat. I bought an earlier version years ago and it’s still in good shape but I have been in need of a slightly larger size. My old one is a size small regular. To size up a bit, I tried a medium regular. It was snug under the arms, etc. The large regular looked too bulky and the sleeves were too long. So I tried a PETITE large and it fit properly. I tried it on with a long sleeve tee and a thin zip front Polartec layer to make sure the coat would accommodate a layer and still stay snapped up in front. 5’3 1/2”. 151 lb. 38B. I have worn my “warmer” coat all winter long for just general daily use. I like that I can wear it in most winter weather in the DC climate. It resists moisture and blocks the wind and has the warm lining in the chest area. The longer length keeps my thigh and seat areas comfortable. I stay comfortable walking the dog in a park that can often be windy. The hood can be adjusted close to the head so I don’t really need a hat. One suggestion I would give the designers is to go back to the knit sleeve cuff on the old version and get rid of the Velcro at the cuff. I can see this becoming a lint magnet or snagging onto other things. It’s just bulky, less attractive, and doesn’t function as well. Still, all in all a great coat.

Great Coat
I am really enjoying this coat. It is warm, comfy, and very cozy. People tell me all the time that it looks really nice on me. I bought the purple one, I think it looks pretty too.

Nice enough, but POCKETS ARE TOO SMALL
I bought this to replace a similar LL Bean coat I purchased a few years ago (Item 271140), which had a zipper that broke. The new coat is a decent replacement, but I was disappointed that the pockets were MUCH smaller. With the old coat I was able to store a small knit cap and a glove in one pocket. With the new coat, it's either the glove or the cap but not both. (Sizes are the same: Petite Medium.) Also, the fit in the arms seems a bit tighter on this coat. As a long time customer, I've noticed that LL Bean has been skimping on pocket size the past few years: denim jeans, zip front jackets, and now winter coats. PLEASE GO BACK TO PROVIDING BIGGER POCKETS!!!
