Go up a size
I’m 5’3” with chest and hips. If I didn’t have these I’d be a size medium. Luckily I used my head with ordering this and went up to XL to account for my chest/hips and extra layers for winter. Glad I did. If I was going to try to bundle layers (which this is my work coat and I’m only accounting for one layer underneath) I probably would’ve gone to a 1X.

Too wide at the hips!
I am a petite small in the winter longer 3/4 length coat. I am 5' tall, 120lbs. I wanted a medium warm coat so I bought this one. I ordered it in a petite medium based on reviews about the shoulders being too narrow. I find this true- if I'd gone with my usual petite small, the shoulders would've been tight. However, the bottom half of the coat is too wide! Cinching the waist of the coat made it even more hideous on me. It's a nice coat, just not a good style for me.
