Base layer
Though I have always used layering when dressing for an outing when the temperature was going to change; I have become a big fan of the various layers Bean offers. The “base” layer being the closest to the skin is most important. It’s the layer that will either wick away moisture, or capture some of your own body heat. This shirt is a great base layer.

Good quality but loose fit
This is a high quality active-wear shirt- I wore it at Acadia for hiking, kayaking, etc. The fit is supposed to be “slightly fitted”, but I found the fit of the shirt to be rather big, particularly in the torso. A closer fit would make this 5 stars in my opinion.
