Blanket has a fabric-finish smell and lots of loose fibers, so that, with my allergies, it took 3 washings before I could sleep under it. The "hand" of the fabric is not as soft as other gauze blankets I have owned. Nice weight.

Fabulous gift!
This was a gift to a dearly beloved friend and her husband who work incredibly hard and then toss and turn at night. We raved about this blanket, and they clearly thought we were nuts. We told them about L.L.Bean, which they politely listened to but weren't convinced. Then they unpacked and slept under this blanket we sent them. The friend raves that she's never had such a comfortable blanket in her life and can't imagine how we knew it would be so good. Salutes, as always, to L.L. Bean!!!

Best blanket that I’ve had in a long time
Love the lightweight cotton gauze blanket that I purchased recently. I chose the Terracotta color and am well pleased. It is so comfortable and the natural fabric is just right for a good nights sleep . I also had Bean Bucks and a coupon that I redeemed which added to my positive experience.

Perfect summer blanket
I looked around at other gauze blankets, and this one stood out as higher quality in all ways. I received the blanket the same week we got a foster kitten so it was christened with some snags and pulls, which I expected. I keep it covered with a lightweight spread to minimize damage. I love this blanket because it breathes and has enough weight to feel like you have a heavier blanket over you. The blue color is lovely. I am happy I indulged myself with this purchase, and expect to have this in use for many years.

Almost Perfect, But Not Quite
This is a beautifully soft, lightweight summer blanket. I purchased a Queen and a king size for our summer cottage in the lovely green shade. I read the reviews which mentioned snag issues with pets, but we have no pets so thought I was pretty safe. The blanket snags incredibly easily. Even after making my husband file his fingernails and toenails, we have snags. It is disappointing because the blanket is is otherwise truly wonderful. If you can live with tiptoeing around it, it’s a great blanket.
One note of caution! I washed and dried both blankets before use and found that the fiber “shedding” in the dryer was extreme. The lint catcher was overstuffed with an enormous amount of lint, which I only noticed when the dryer kept running and didn’t stop. A real fire hazard! The lint catch should be emptied multiple times during the dry cycle for this blanket.
