Great waterproof boots
I bought these boots for a trip to Alaska as my itinerary included a lot of hiking. These boots kept me warm, were waterproof, had a great grip on steep slopes, and did not cause any blisters even when I walked over ten miles a day in them. I even used them while hiking on glaciers which required crampons. The crampons fit nicely over these books.

I tried on Salomon, Oboz, Hoka, and this pair, and this was the most comfortable by far. I wore them on an 8 mile hike out of the box and just did an 18 miler yesterday, and my feet feel great--no blisters, and these have so much more traction than the Columbias they replaced. LL Bean continues to be my favorite brand for hiking boots hands down.

NOT WATERPROOF
Bought these in March 2025 ,I wore these on a rainy hike and my socks were soaked. Boots were absolutely not waterproof at all. Maybe would be fine on a wet street, but not in wet grass.

Nice hiking boots
The boots are awesome! I used them in Iceland kept my feet warm and dry. After wearing them hiking, climbing all day they did not hurt my feet like most boots. Plus they look great!

Shoe Works Well for Dog Walking
The shoe fit well. Medium width does not squeeze my feet. I wear a size 7M Bean Boot, and ordered a size 7M for this boot. It was initially stiff, but it did not take more than a few wearings to break-in. While I have worn this shoe walking through dewy grass and no moisture has leaked thru to my feet, I have worn this shoe for dog walking when the weather is not especially rainy. I wouldn't mind getting a second pair (maybe of a different color) for when this current pair wears out.
