Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super cozy and soft but the zipper is awful.... Starting with the good news, you will never own a warmer or cozier sleeping bag than this one. It’s so cozy that it’s hard to convince yourself to crawl out of it in the morning. It’s soft and warm and roomy, and made of the same stuff your best nighttime dreams are made of. I ordered this sleeping bag in March 2025, and I am writing this review in August 2025. But I can’t give this sleeping bag five stars, because of 2 issues: First, the zipper is the absolute worst. I did not get a “defective” zipper – it’s simply an LLBean design flaw: the zipper gauge is inadequate for efficient stowing: when you try to zip the bag up, the fabric gets caught in the zipper, eventually ripping the fabric and exposing the insulation. I realize the company saves money—savings that are passed along to the customer—by using a smaller-gauge zipper. But any serious camper or boater (We use our sleeping bags on our sailboat) would be willing to pay extra for a stronger, larger-gauge zipper that does not get caught in the fabric. To be more specific, this sleeping bag’s zipper is number 3 gauge – a high-use sleeping bag like this one (adjacent to puffy fabric) requires a number 10. Second issue is that the storage “case” that the sleeping bag comes in is so tight that it takes two people—and high pressure—to squeeze it back into the sheath – most people will abandon the case for this reason, which exposes the sleeping bag to premature deterioration. Listen up, LLBean – this is a simple design suggestion: If you made the case slightly “conical” with a wider opening at the top, we’d be able to more easily re-insert the bag into its protective case at the end of our trip. The case could easily be made roomy enough that the sleeping bag could be put back in the case without an industrial flattener to squish it in, eh? I feel that serious campers and boaters will step up to the extra quality, if offered. So that you understand that this critique is offered in the spirit of improving this product, not just slamming it – please know that my husband owns the exact same sleeping bag from LLBean – which he bought in 1986! So we are longtime customers! My husband bought his for a camping trip to a music festival (fiddle players) in upper Quebec, and the sleeping bag survived an unexpected major storm that swept away his tent and most of his camping equipment. So the sleeping bag itself has been a good investment for the 40 years he has owned it, and he is the one who urged me to buy this same one for myself. But he had to stop zipping the thing up in the first year he owned it, because this zipper problem goes way back. He just gave up ever trying to zip it again, and he uses it like a thick “blanket.” We use our sleeping bags on our sailboat on the Chesapeake Bay, and I can assure you, that you will never sleep in anything cozier! So please take our criticism in the friendly spirit it’s intended: We wish LLBean would read these reviews and upscale the product accordingly! Happy camping and happy sailing! (LLBean should add "sailing" to its list of "What activity did you buy this product for!")

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roomy, comfortable and warm This bag is roomy, comfortable and warm. It was time to move on from a down mummy bag, and this is a good choice, as I mostly use it for car travel and sleeping in cold rooms in cabins.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT a true Zero Degree bag Below 35 degrees and you will feel it in this bag. You wont freeze to death but you will know for sure it’s cold outside. It got to around 30 degrees where I was camping and the bag was at its limit there, I couldn’t imagine trying to sleep in any colder weather with it. The zipper on this bag is a pain to use, it keeps getting snagged on the bag and is difficult to zip up. The only positive about the bag is it is large enough for 6ft tall people. I feel like I waisted my money on this bag and it is very misleading.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Below 35 degrees and you will feel it. NOT a Zero Degree Bag and the Zipper is horrible! I used this bag on a camping trip here in Florida, it got down to about 30 degrees and you could feel it through the bag. The bag will keep you alive but if you are looking for a true zero degree bag do NOT get this one. Also the zipper is very difficult to use as it gets snagged on the bag when trying to use it. The bag is spacious but that is it. I waisted my money on this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm! I bought this for my brother a year ago. Some friends and I were renting a cabin. The furnace stopped working on the coldest night of the week. The temps that night dropped to 14°. Inside the sleeping bag I was comfortable warm. My friends were freezing as they brought blankets and pillows.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Winter Camping sleeping bag Great sleeping bag, heavy and very warm. Can't confirm warmth and zero degrees as rated. But in the mid 30s it's great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cocoon Will give as gift this Christmas to a friend who is 5’10’, hence the longer length. From experience, the longer length allows for my pillow to be ‘inside’ the bag, and if frigid, for me to be covered from toe to top of head. Great sleeping bags!
