I spent a long time looking for a light-medium weight jacket that looks good but is still practical. This was perfect. The zipper and hood make it a lot more convenient than button-up "utility jackets" that don't have a hood. It has a nice tough canvas fabric on the outside, but it's soft and comfortable on the inside. It's not a winter coat, but it's great for slightly chilly weather. The only potential downside I see is that the shell is slightly stiff.

Lighter weight than expected
Lighter weight material than expected and very little room for layering. Even if it fit, considering the quality and light weight insulation it is too expensive.

New favorite!
This is my new favorite everyday/work jacket for shoulder seasons. Nice rugged fabric with plenty of room for movement, and plenty of pockets. Great for layering with a fleece or sweater. I exchanged the green for the black as I really didn't like the green. I expect to get many years of use from it!
