Our twist on a classic, with authentic cable designs from the Aran Islands. This striped quarter-zip sweater is made from crispy cotton yarns that are substantial and reach further into the seasons than traditional wool.
We chose densely-knit cotton yarns to give our quarter-zip cable sweater three-season appeal. It's more relaxed than traditional fisherman sweaters, offering supreme comfort and easygoing style.

Nice sweater with jeans
This sweater is attractive and true to size. The fabric is a little scratchy so I wear a tank top underneath. Also the stripes are very dark blue, almost black. Easy to put over your head with the quarter zipper.

Very bulky - and long
Lovely material, and a pretty pattern, but I'm 5'1" tall and the bottom of the sweater fell below my hip joint. I hung onto it and tried it on more than once, but could not persuade myself I would actually wear it regularly. :-(

Beautiful sweater!
This is a beautiful sweater that feels like a hand, knit, Ralph Lauren sweater, and gives the best of both worlds. That summer sweater you wear with shorts, or pair it with an undershirt for winter. Beautifully crafted and put together, it feels heavy without weighing you down. Looking forward to wearing this here in California when our weather turns. It’s perfect! I am 5’8” tall, I weigh 145 pounds and the medium is a perfect size. Not too tight, and not too much either.

Comfortable, quality
The body is just slightly bulky. I am 5’8, 145 lbs and purchased a size medium. It is a quality sweater and I have received compliments each time I wear it out. Nice and heavy, I typically wear this when it’s 30-50 degrees out.

Couldn't Be Better
The design of this sweater has been well thought out. The placement of the stripes is perfect, and the top and bottom edges of the stripes are smooth and even, not irregular as on some similar sweaters. Later iterations of L.L. Bean's fisherman sweaters have been softer than the originals from years back, and this one is no exception. The zipper pull is a simple, yet elegant, finishing touch; and the zipper itself is sturdy. You get what you pay for, and this sweater is well worth the price.
