Comfortably roomy
I bought this garment basically for lounging around my loft whch is rather cold in the winter. I usually wear a small, but this medium fits me confortably. I am 5' 7.5" and weigh 135 lb. I wanted a loose fit and I got it. Judging from the fit of this medium, I think the small would be snug and much better looking, but appearannce was not my main concern.

Almost perfect—a few little things
This is a really nice garment that is almost perfect.
The weight of the fabric, which I wasn’t sure of before ordering, is pretty lightweight. Maybe like a 100g fleece, or like Patagonia’s “micro d” fabric in terms of weight/thickness. I think it will be warm for its weight and dry quickly, like my micro d. This fabric is exactly what I wanted—not too bulky to pack and versatile for lots of temps and for layering. The hood fits better than some—more snug to the head and not too loose (for me, at least). I’m 6’2” 210 and about average proportions and the sleeves fall at my wrist (exactly what I wanted but none too long) and the body/waist could be a little longer but it’s fine.
A few nitpicks:
- the half-zipper is pretty light weight—it could be one or two levels more beefy
- the hand pockets, which connect in the middle like a regular hoodie, are backed by a very thin fabric (between your hands and your body) and it’s fine except that when a cell phone and keys are in it, they are heavy enough to stretch the fabric below the level of the sweatshirt’s hem. So the pocket material is hanging out the bottom of the sweatshirt—pretty bad- and cheap-looking.
- there seems to be some shedding when new. Haven’t washed yet so we’ll see. I assume the most shedding will occur before washing.
- the description says the body/hem is slightly tapered, but it doesn’t feel that way. Could be cool to had a cinch drawcord on the waist but I know that adds cost and manufacturing complexity.
- just personal preference, but I wish there were some solid color options, not just blocks. I would chosen a solid navy, black, green, rust, etc.
It’s a nice enough garment but I wish it were slightly better in the above ways.
