Time for a PFAS-free version
I have had a pair of these Cresta pants for several years and like them a lot. But as a NY resident, I am unable to order another pair since both NY and California have (rightfully) banned the sale of PFAS clothing since the start of 2024. And to be honest, given the impact of these forever chemicals, I've been surprised that LL Bean has kept selling them in the other 48 states.
What I do not understand is why LL Bean has failed to come out with a PFAS-free version. On a selfish level, I'd like to get another pair of these pants. On a more benevolent level, I'd like to see LL Bean take responsibility and use less harmful waterproofing.

My go-to hiking pants for a week-long Alaskan trip
My go-to daily hiking pants on a 7 day backpacking trip in the Alaskan wilderness. Perfect for such a trip and highly, highly recommend. Lightweight, quick drying, easy on / off and easy to tighten with the string. Took a lot of abuse but after 1 wash post-trip still looks like-new.
