Finally a boot I can wear in comfort!
I have several foot issues so finding boots that I can wear is tough. I ordered half a size larger since they didn't have "W" option and am very pleased that I can wear these in our rough terrain. We have a very rocky ranch w/several changes in elevation that require hiking & climbing. Very happy with the sole, quality & so far sturdiness of these.

The Boots I was Looking For
I purchased these boots to work in the woods because I was destroying all my hiking boots (and often my feet would get cold in snowy conditions). I’ve had and worn them for a few weeks, but waited to post a review until we had a serious work day.
I wore them all day yesterday, tromping through snow, burning slash piles, and hiking up & down creek banks and over ice to do water sampling. They are sturdy, keep my feet warm (but not too warm) , dry, and protected. They’re heavier than hiking boots (obviously), but do not feel “clunky.” GREAT traction.
Ordered my hiking boot size (10), and I recommend wearing a good, thick boot sock with these—there’s still plenty of room in the toe box while not slipping on the heel. They’re tall enough on the calf that there’s no issue with seed heads & stuff getting in there tromping through tall grass.
Really a great boot to invest in, and I look forward to many years of work in them!

Amazing
I was hesitant to buy such expensive boots...but, they were worth it!!!!
You'd think that such a sturdy boot would take time to break in...BUT, as soon as I put them on they felt wonderful! There's enough cushioning around the ankle and there's actually no stiffness! I live in Wisconsin, where we just got at least 13 inches of snow and it's now -4 degrees outside. They're warm, comfortable and great traction...because packed snow can be as slippery as ice. If you do a lot of activities outdoors...these boots are well worth the price!

Rubs against heels
I love the boot but it rubs against my heels too much. I never had this problem with the other LL Bean hiking boot i have. I’ve been hiking harsh terrain in this for about three weeks now and it still feels like it hasn’t broken in. BUT it’s a great boot for walking through streams and the grip is incredible.

Excellent boots!
Excellent boots! As a wildlife biologist, I wear boots out regularly, between work and bird hunting. These have a nice wide toe box which helps with arthritis in my toes as well as a firm sole. It makes working in these boots for hours very comfortable.
