Well made and cute idea but ultimately odd pants
The button fly is SO unnecessary and annoying to button on these otherwise very well made pants. But note that the fabric is VERY thick (almost like army duffle material lol) and Im crossing fingers this pair softens over time. Bit weird fit in crotch and seat. Overall not happy with this purchase.

Pants were very awkward fitting. The pockets have a hole in the top making them unusable, the elastic in the waust caused them to ride up and down with motion and despite using your fit guide and being told what size to buy, they were to short

Great pant underneath the patches
Purchased this pair of pants because it was on a steep discount, and read that one reviewer was able to remove the patches (so naturally I did the same). The khaki color is a great neutral and doesn't swing too yellow, making it a versatile piece once the superfluous elements are removed. The cut and quality are the same as the other Women's Signature Boyfriend Chinos, and I love them.
As the other reviewer noted, the patches are a bit tricky to remove, but can be done with some patience. I am keeping the patches to use as actual mending fabric when the time comes, as it's the same weight as the cloth the pants themselves are cut from. I can understand where the design team was coming from in terms of trying to create a cool worn-in workwear interpretation of the chino, but the giant, fraying rectangular patches simply look goofy.
LL Bean please continue to release these boyfriend chinos in other styles like flannel lined. The rise is mid as advertised, but a high-rise version would be nice too.

Perfect THICK, structured chinos
Perfect THICK pants with zero stretch. If you miss the days of structured, heavy-weight pants, these are for you. No cellulite showing through the fabric on your rear end! I embellished the patches (see pic). I'm a 12, but ordered both 12 & 14 b/c I like slightly big. Kept 14. Got tan and the sailcloth (full price).
