Not a great design for the outdoors.
XXL Tall is tight in the shoulders, big enough at the waist to fit a 50” waist. Chest pockets too small. Cell phone is not secure. Waist pockets w/o zipper. Contents fall out easily.

Nice looking shirt, but pilling is bad
I was looking for a shirt jacket similar to the LL Bean men's Allagash fleece shirt/jacket, which has been discontinued. Husband has 3 of those that have lasted at least 4 years without showing signs of wear except where he's ripped or melted the fabric (that's on him). I purchased 5 of these for my male family members for Christmas 2024, because they were the closest thing I could see to the Allagash. The guys wear them/like them, however, they have commented on the stray threads here and there, which we shouldn't have at this price, and they pill and look ratty quickly.

More traditional looking
While I prefer to wear wool shirts and jackets outdoors, I decided to give this sweater fleece version a try. I like that it looks and fits like a traditional shirt jac, and is not too sleek nor jetty nor “fitted” looking. Quality is typically LL Bean; superb. The side hand warmer pockets are great but, the breast snap pockets are too small to hold much beyond a few dimes and a piece of candy. Surely too small to hold one of today’s brick-sized cell phones unless one doesn’t mind not snapping the pocket shut. I wouldn’t consider this a replacement for real wool shirt jacs, but perhaps a warmer weather, in-town alternative.
