Strong manganese steel crampons bite into ice and firm snow.

  • 6000-grade anodized-aluminum frame is strong and light.
  • Manganese steel crampons provide excellent traction.
  • Lateral stability wings help keep you steady and confident on uneven terrain.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I sprung for the model w/boa. These are a breeze to get on/off and adjust using the boa system. Previously I had the belt style strap system that you stretch around your heel, which was very stiff in the colder temps and hard to stretch around the back of my large boots. It was also an awkward angle for me to pull, given my back issues. This new boa system is a dream. The boa button mechanism is located over my toes which makes it easy to reach (no twisting while bending which is what throws out my back). It’s easy to dial in the tension you wish to secure your foot or release your foot by popping the boa open. It works with my big Sorrels or my more compact Asolo hiking boots 🥾. I am a 6ft tall woman. I have a size men’s 9.5 foot and I got the men’s version of this snowshoe. If you have a size 11 men’s or larger foot I’d bet you would need to use a more compact boot (not a bulky Sorrel) to fit into the snowshoe binding. I weight 165lbs and have used these in very deep snow and only sunk in really deep (up to my thigh) at one point in a snow drift on a frozen lake and had to dig my self out. So they work fine in almost all situations but they did not float for me in super deep very light powder that was very fresh. For that you’d need a snowshoe with a larger surface area to keep you floating. Over all I give these snowshoes top marks A+. Honestly, if the $40 cheaper model was in stock at the store I would have bought the cheaper clip in model because I’m thrifty. But in retrospect the universe was looking out for me, when forcing me to buy the pricier model as I needed them to use that day. I’m so glad I got this model despite the $199 price tag, because they are so easy to get on/off, adjust once, and go. And they stay on with out slipping. My old worn out pair of snowshoes had the belt system and I had to adjust them every 50 paces because the strap was coming off my heel. There is a 3rd style LLBean model with clip system that has a slider so you can adjust the straps to fit your foot size, but it takes some fussing to get it fitting just right. So for me, these snowshoes were definitely worth the extra $40 as they quickly accommodate many sizes of footwear with a simple twist of the boa. I hope this review is helpful to others trying to make this decision. Happy snowshoeing!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Good & The Bad.... Men's 25" Pathfinder Boa Rec snowshoes: used twice, two days in a row, on rolling woodsy terrain, packed snow. The binding is very quick to put on and adjust. But, the hard plastic part over the top of the foot has a sharp edge where your boot/foot bends with each step. Somewhat painful after half an hour or so, and I think would abrade the top of the boot. This is easily corrected with a rolled edge, and hopefully future models will include this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Dream Come True I was ready to give up snowshoeing until I found these. The bindings are the best I have ever had for moderate-demand use. Adjustments are made quickly and easily. The shoe floats well in deep powder. The crampon teeth give good traction on ice. And they are right at the price point!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Snow shoes Great product but straps do open enough very difficult to get larger size boots inside the snow shoe straps

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inadequate heel strap Snowshoe and foot strap great. The weakness and major shortcoming in my view is the back strap. It’s small and thin does the job but you have to use both hands to dig it out from under your heel.it needs to be bigger thicker with a large built up part in the center rear that can easily be grasped with one hand and stretched to the heel.
