Average quality, runs small
Inside fabric of coat (liner) feels cheap. Order a size larger, mine was a bit small.

Disappointed
Called the 800 number to ask for garment dimensions. I was given the chest measurement for the plus size 1X, they said it was 52". I went ahead and ordered the jacket in size 1X but when I opened it I knew it was going to be too small. The chest measurement turned out to be 48". Much too small and now I have to send or take it back and hope Bean will give me a refund. They might not since this jacket appears to be a clearance item. Aside from the jacket being one size too small it's a nice enough jacket with a fleece bodice which is nice to trap your warmth.

Runs small
I bought a size L as my older M jacket is getting a bit snug, but this is even tighter, especially across the chest and in the shoulders. Sleeve length was good, but I had to send it back.

Down hooded jacket
I’m between medium and large with LLB tops. I bought a medium in the color combination of blue, red, and mustard color. Like other reviews stated, I feel the shoulder is a bit tight when first put on. However, as I ease myself in after a a minute or so, I do feel very comfortable in it. It’s light, and I do like the snug fit, quite flattering. Also, I have no problem moving my arms or shoulders. The only issue with the medium is there’s no space for me to wear a sweater under it. I am considering to buy a large in a different color so I can wear a sweater. But I will definitely keep the medium. Love the color combination.

Size Up
Based on reviews, I sized up from my usual small petite to medium petite and it fits great with the ability to wear a mid weight sweater. With the fleece lining, it is extra warm and yet not bulky. The fit is flattering and creates an hourglass effect.

The Goldilocks jacket (hard to find just right)
This is an update to an earlier review. I LOVE LL Bean down jackets and have had two others, both size Regular Small. Because of the fleece lining and a bulkier cut, the Regular Small was tight under the arms and bunched right above the bustline, but the rest of the jacket fit well. I tried a Regular Medium, which was more comfortable under the arms but was bigger than I like elsewhere, including with arms that are too long for me. I tried a Medium Petite, which was a good length on me (I'm 5'4") but was once again tight and uncomfortable under the arms. I felt like Goldilocks, with one too small, one too big... but none just right! It's a lovely jacket and is very warm, and I appreciate the fleece lining, which is very cozy, but it just doesn't fit me right.
