This hard-wearing, but soft, fleece-lined heavyweight hooded sweatshirt will keep the cold out and the warmth in year after year.
The Katahdin Iron Works operated in the north woods for much of the 19th century, employing thousands of hardworking Mainers. Inspired by their grit and strength, we designed our Katahdin Iron Works line of rugged work clothes to stand up to all kinds of rough use.
- 100% polyester fleece lining; sleeves are lined with 100% polyester taffeta.
- 91% cotton, 9% polyester.
- Machine wash and dry.
- Body is lined with soft berber fleece for extra warmth and comfort.
- Triple-needle stitching adds durability.
- Taffeta-lined sleeves for easy on/off.
- Ribbed trim at cuffs and hem.
- Locker loop.
- Zip front.
- Specially-designed hood fits well even over a baseball cap.
- Front pockets, one with interior security pocket.
- Underarm gussets for added mobility.

Quality Decline
This version does not compare to the quality of this product in the past. I have owned and purchased as gifts at least 8 of these Katahdin hooded sweatshirts over the past 20 years. Unfortunately, this one had to be returned. The hood is significantly shorter than past versions and pulls on your neck. The fleece lining in this new version is also much thinner than past versions. Another unfortunate example of the continued increase in price and decline in quality of LL Bean merchandise.

Great! Except for the BIG logo
This was a great sweatshirt until Bean added the huge logo on the chest. I have six worn out without the logo and can’t wear the one I bought with the logo.

Well made and warm!
I recently bought this jacket for my teenaged son. He is very picky about what he'll wear, and he has already starting wearing this jacket every day, even though it's probably still too warm outside for it. It is solidly made, warm, and looks great on him.
