Had reservations, but it's great
I was uncertain about buying this backpack for my eighth grader as his school bag that wouldn't be carrying a laptop. They are required to use the school assigned cases. I was still worried that he wouldn't have enough room for his folders/binders, water bottle, lunch bag, and read book(s). It's actually ver spacious and seems like a much better fit than the classic deluxe version I was steering him towards. I have no regrets about this purchase and am happy with it as is my son.

Back to school
I don’t feel that the back pack is as roomie as advertised. The waterbottle pockets are great but the main compartment seems small and the other pockets also seem small. I love the color, straps, and overall appearance.
