Best pjs
These are the best pjs I have ever owned. I own multiple of them and each year buy more. Warm but not too hot under a down blanket. They are so comfortable that I actually sleep better in them. I don't agree with the other negative reviews. The waist is fine, and they are definitely not too long (I'm just under 5'5" and about 135 lbs, the reviewer who said they were too long was 5'4"--that's an inch difference, tops, and the medium reg is not too long on me). Also, one reviewer said the waist is small. It is fine on me (though I do usually take a small in Bean clothing and have these pyjamas in a medium, and the waist fits perfectly, so maybe the waist is a hair small but you should be safe if you size up one size--they may be a bit roomy overall, but they are super comfortable that way). And to the reviewer who thought Bean changed these, I will say that newer versions of these pjs do feel a little different, because the fabric varies somewhat (and the waist is maybe a little stiffer when new). Once I washed them a few times, I didn't really notice the difference. And to the reviewers who complain that these are not 100% cotton, it's the modal that makes them especially soft (and the added stretch that makes them super comfortable). It does have a slippery feel, especially until you wash them a couple times. I hang dry so I can't speak to shrinkage. What I'm peeved about is that two of my favorite pjs just came out of the wash with black stains on them (I did not wash them with anything dark, the repair person is coming out tomorrow), and I can't replace them because Bean no longer has the pink and white stripes or the green with blue stripes. Bean needs to keep up the fabric quality on these and introduce more color options. They also need to introduce petite, I can see that if you're on the petite side, the thicker waistband might be uncomfortable. I myself love the thicker waistband (no movement), but I'm just shy of 5'5". I will say that I don't love the short version of these as much--the fabric I got with those was definitely not the same quality.
