Supportive but light
The shoe is comfortable and supportive yet due to the composition of the sole it’s much lighter than other shoes of this design. The sole provides good cushioning as well. Highly recommended.

definitely not sneaker like comfort
Whoever wrote "sneaker slike comfort and support either never wore good athletic shoes or didn't wear the Stonington oxfords. I bought these 13W for a winter trip and wanted shoes for wear on the plane and in the city in non snow environments. I have been wearing these shoes for a few months and just can't love the fit and comfort. The length and width in the toe box is fine but my heel slides around. The laces are prone to come untied so double knowts are necessary, which kind of negates the intent of a comfortable shoe for traversing airports and the TSA line.
The appearance and materials are good. perhaps they will work better for someone else. I think I will try to find a hiking shoe

Warm and sturdy with good grip
These shoes are warm enough for -5C and have good grip on slippy pavements.

Nice shoes for work.
4-1/2 stars. My husband needed a new pair of shoes for wearing to work. Although he would have liked something a touch more dressy looking (less "rugged"), these look good, fit well, and seem like they will last. I'm happy!
