A Little Disappointed
This is one product from LL Bean that I’m not totally happy with. In every other case, I give products five stars, not here.
The boots are loose fitting, I need to wear heavy-weight socks and lace them really tight to make them fit, going down a size would make them too short.
Additionally, the left boot leather split about 1/4” across the toes within moments of putting them on my feet The right boot’s heel cup was oddly shaped and cut into my heel causing a bad blister. Not what I expect from Bean’s.

Nice but not for my needs.
They seem to be well made boots. I sent them back because the height and weight of the soles was a bit much. Kind of defeats the purpose of kangaroo boots for me. The lugs are aggressive and I can only imagine that they will get heavy with mud despite that the say they the design is supposed to release it. For the price I don’t want to take the chance. Would love these if they were offered in lower heal and shallower lugs/grip.

Disappointed, not like previous purchases
I’ve worn out at least two pairs of this style kangaroo boot from LL Bean, and was very happy with them. They were lightweight and needed the least breaking in of any boots I’ve owned. But, was very disappointed in this new pair. Actually 2 pairs, since the first ordered was much too small. Both pairs were very stiff and uncomfortable, and much heavier than my old boots. Returned both. Will look elsewhere.

Poor build quality
The inner lining began to tear at the heel after a few months. From the get go, they dig into your heel/achilles a lot and leave blisters. The laces are also way too thick for the hooks, which themselves also tear out easily.
They aren't waterproof either.

Love the boots
Excellent, comfortable boot. The only “complaint” I have is the laces seem too thick to fit the hooks. I got a pair for Christmas last year, with that same issue. I figured someone would have commented and an easy change to thinner laces made. But I got another pair for Christmas this year and no change made. I ask you to take a pair off the shelf and try to lace them to the top. Thanks for listening.

Kangaroo Hunter's boot review for NC, 2025
Virtually no break-in time needed. Wore them two full days in the yard and that seemed be all that was necessary for the soles to get worked in. The leather was quite supple from the get-go. Very comfortable and supports my ankles when fully laced up. It's October here in the mountains of NC, so no need for any extra warmth in the uninsulated boots. But there seems to be a nice comfortable space to wear a combination of thin w/ medium pair of wool socks (or a full thickness).
