Best backpack ever!
I decided to purchase this backpack after my daughter went through 2 backpacks in 1 year and back in the day LL Bean was the brand you buy when you want quality and longevity so buying this backpack I can assure you that is still true today I know this backpack will last for many years because when you buy LL Bean your not just buying a brand your buying quality.

Never disappoints!

Deluxe Bookpack IV
I’ve been using the L.L.Bean Deluxe Bookpack IV for a while now, and I’m genuinely impressed by how sturdy it feels — it’s one of the few bags I don’t worry about tossing around or overstuffing. The pockets are laid out so well that everything has a place, and I never feel like I’m digging endlessly to find what I need. Honestly, it’s the kind of backpack that makes you wonder why you ever bothered with anything else.

Quality over time
My grandparents got me this backpack when i was 11 years old, for 6th grade. I used it everyday since for middle and highschool and used it for every trip, vacation, hike and long car ride since. Its been up and down the east coast from maine to florida more times than i can count. I am 27 now and just went back to school. I still use this backpack everyday. She may look rough but its 16 years old at this point. Buy this backpack.

Great book pack for booklovers to pack books!
This L.L. Bean Deluxe Book Pack is exactly what I was looking for, as I head off to the library for a day's worth of studying to do and a lot of books, plus a water bottle stowed on each side. The pack doesn't get five (5) stars, though, because its straps are a little tough to cinch up (at least they are for me, and adult male) and also, I'm minus a water bottle somehow, after stowing my large Yeti in one of the side pockets. I don't think that it fell out, but I live in NYC, and it's always possible that someone just lifted it out of the side water bottle mesh pocket that I had the Yeti in. If I replace the Yeti, maybe I'll get the smaller version to fit better in the mesh side pockets of this pack, and not stick out so much.

Great backpack as a carry on…

Great for travel and as a work bag
Ordered this for travel and for a work bag. I’m a nurse and have to carry a lot of stuff to and from work. It has been great for both uses. I was able to pack all the stuff I needed for a 7 day trip in it and it fit under the airplane seat easily. Also carries all my work gear with room to spare. I love that I can put water bottles on both sides of it. Feels sturdy and appears well made so hoping it lasts a long time.
