This exclusive flannel zip hoodie is woven just for us by true artisans in Portugal. These expert craftspeople meticulously brush our Scotch Plaid fabric eight times on each side to create a long-lasting material with that distinctive smooth and cozy feel. But that doesn't automatically make it plush enough. It still needs to pass the "touch test." Only a master weaver can declare it soft enough.

Sadly, doesn't replace the original one
This is the 2nd of these flannel hoodies I've purchased; the first in November, 2020, which I've literally worn EVERY SINGLE DAY (4-10 hrs/day) since purchasing and have loved it. It's felt so comforting to wear. (The front has 4" holes on each side of the zipper where I've leaned against the countertop chopping veggies for many hours in it; the cuffs are worn thru from wearing it at my desk, and the sleeve seams are getting small holes ... seems pretty good for 6 years of daily wear and 25-30 washes!!) This new one was made in a different country. Even though the labels show the identical size, the new one is 3-1/4" narrower across at the bottom hem. I unzipped them, laid one atop the other and measured the bottom width to get the measurement. It's too tight at the hips and my original has room to spare. Otherwise, the jacket fits fine and is identical to my first one. I washed it once (cold water / low heat, just like the original one) and the measurement is after washing. Others commented about the zipper being difficult (too far from the bottom); I found it difficult to insert the zipper into the other side - however, I realized that's just because the leather piece to hold onto hasn't yet softened. It WILL soften and then be easy to zip. It's the same distance from the bottom of the jacket as my first one. My other frustration was that the center line where the zipper is placed is along the very thin white line in the plaid print. That's always tricky! The zipper was sewn slightly puckered on the inside, so the fabric meets in the middle and covers the top half of the zipper and doesn't meet and exposes the zipper on the bottom half. All in all, disappointing and not the same high quality I'm used to from L.L.Bean.

Absolutely wonderful jacket!
One of the best light weight jackets I own. The flannel is soft, sturdy, fits true to size with a little extra room. The colors are so pretty. This is a 3 season jacket. My favorite way to use this jacket is for air conditioned stores, grocery stores, restaurants, and In the car when my husband blasts the A/C. Highly recommend. I bought 2!
