We've taken our customer-favorite snow sneakers and added Vibram Arctic Grip. This innovative technology is designed for unparalleled traction on wet ice. Paired with Vibram's IceTrek lugged sole, for superior slip resistance on cold, slick or snow-covered terrain, it offers the ultimate performance in winter footwear. Plus, a thermochromatic lug turns from white to blue when the temperatures fall below freezing, so you know they're working.

Break in for wonderful comfort
I agree with another review which said they must be broken in gradually. As they're higher to the ankles, it's very necessary to eliminate the rubbing. However, once broken in, these shoe boots are absolutely great! They're the ony boots I wear all winter long and are perfect in every way! The Arctic Grip is awesome.

These provide a good grip on icy ground. They are warm and comfortable with a roomy toe box. These are my second pair. I hope Bean keeps making them.

Great Shoes but Must Break In
I purchased these shoes for the PrimaLoft insulation, as I wanted to be able to take walks in the cold weather, and my toes are vulnerable to the cold. However, I don’t think the shoes should be called “Sneakers,” which to me indicates an athletic walking shoe, and these shoes are pretty stiff. They turned out later on to be great for walking in cold weather, but my advice is to break them in slowly, maybe a half mile at a time. Also, they come up a bit high, hitting my ankle bones, so I place some padding in my socks there to take care of it, and they’re fine. At least now I can walk outdoors in the winter thanks to PrimaLoft.
