Functional
Has held up better than the 3-in-1 I bought for my younger son. Zippers stay up. Seems to be warm enough for a Midwest winter. Very good quality on the outer shell.

Great Ski Jacket
We bought this for my 12 year old daughter. We enjoy lots of outdoor winter activities and so far this has been perfect. Having the zip out liner is a game changer for her. We skied at Jay Peak when it was in the 20s and windy, no problem! We did a snowy hike where it was in the 40s so she just wore the liner. She’s been wearing it playing in the snow and getting pretty wet and so far has stayed perfectly dry with this coat.
We got a size 18 though I think she could have worn the 14/16 but she preferred the fit of the 18. For reference she’s about 5’-2” and pretty slim, usually wears a girls size 14/16 or women’s XS/S.

Not warm
Last winter, I bought my son an LLBean down coat that was supposed to be very warm. It was not warm, and also was not waterproof. I still had confidence in the quality of LLBean's coats back then, so I bought this coat for him to WEAR ON TOP OF the down LLBean coat. If he wears the down coat as a base layer and this coat on top, he is warm and dry. Add it up, and that is about $400 of coats needed to create a single functional coat for a child who will outgrow them in no time. I no longer have confidence in LLBean coats, so I want to make shoppers aware of the problems with them in hopes of keeping others from throwing good money after bad.
