For nearly 90 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

Old School Better School
The old school 'open collar' flannel shirts that Bean used to sell were a much better feel and look. Also the old school, pearl white buttons just felt (and looked) real. Not a cost effective substitute.

Worst Flannel Shirt
I bought this shirt as a Christmas present last year. It has not been worn until recently. After a few washes, the fabric has pilled and tiny specks of lint are all over the shirt. I have purchased many flannel shirts from other brands and have never seen such poor quality.

Not for broad shoulders
Love LL Bean stuff, but this shirt was tight in the torso, tight in the shoulders and long in the arms. Not made for folks with broad shoulders. Quality was great and the shirt was the nice kind of soft, but sadly was ill-fitting.

Great shirt
I’m 6’3” and just over 200. I ordered an XL tall based on their size chart and my chest size but had to reorder in a L tall because the XL was huge. The L tall is still quite roomy but not excessively so and I like loose fitting shirts. Sleeve length is also very good. Definitely would recommend this.
