Nice warm coat that stays in place.
This is a really nice, warm coat. I have an 80-lb. Labrador retriever who will be 12 years old, so I wanted to make sure she would still be comfortable on our winter hikes. Based on other reviews I bought an extra-large, and it fits really well - perhaps just a little bit big. The extra large covers her back all the way to the base of her tail, so that's a positive feature. She's about the smallest size dog for an extra large vest, but the velcro straps don't have ends that will catch on anything. It's easy to get on and off, doesn't restrict her movement, and is tough enough to stay in place when she goes crashing through thorny bushes. We were out for a couple of hours with light snow falling, and I noticed the back of the jacket was getting wet. When I took it off her the inside of the jacket was still warm and dry. I bought the Canyon Rust color so that I could see her when we're wandering in the woods for an autumn hike. It's not as bright as a blaze-orange vest but still increases her visibility.

We finally settled on the extra large size in oran
Our boxer is 68 pounds and we thought that the large size would work but it left about 6 inches uncovered on his back to his tail. Therefore we bought the extra large size and in fact we have ordered a second coat. During the winter, we will use them as a raincoat and a coat to keep him warm.

Love how tough these coats are
Made for the field! Also love that they are reversible so it’s like getting 2 coats in one. My dogs are in between sizes and of trim body types so I went up in size. The Velcro makes it easy to adjust. Here they are on our Watergogs with their LLBean leashes and toy from LLBean

Not very warm and curls up on sides in back.
Not very warm and curls up in the back so not keeping back warm at all. We needed a bigger coat than the one from LL Bean from a few years ago with the sherpa lining. Since that wasn't offered we tried this. We will need to get something else as this will not keep my service dog, Capt'n Jack, warm, at all. It hasn't dropped down in temp that much yet. Disappointed in LL Bean.

Beautiful item but couldn’t find a good size
I really wanted one of these for our 60 pound dog. I ordered a size up based on reviews, but the extra large was too large and the large was too small. I returned both, but the items did appear to be nice quality.

Great coat but needs a few improvements
I have two coats for my English Springer spaniels. Love the coats and how they can wear them from late fall into the spring. The only thing I would ask to be improved is that the belly band be a bit wider and that there be heavy duty snaps added to the belly band and the chest band. I had a seamstress add heavy duty snaps in both locations because the Velcro would get covered with snow and would not hold and the jacket would fall off or would wrapped around in front of the dogs and they would get tangled up in it. Because the jacket is reversible, she added the snaps so I can use either side of the coat. Works great. This should be part of the original design from the store.

Wish a thicker band for the belly
This is a very soft and warm field jacket. Although it is a beautiful piece it would have been perfect design if it had a thicker band to wrap around my dog’s belly (black lab,wears x-large) for extremely cold season.
