Rated 5 out of 5 by TexasSPQ from great for insulation This silk is a nice weight, and the camisole has helped keep me warm through some cold days without the dreaded synthetic feeling of being in a plastic bag. Yes, pricey but this will last many years with proper care. My suggestion to LL Bean is to get rid of the awful, scratchy tags. Print the relevant information on the inside of the garment. Until I stop long enough to find the scissors to cut the tags out, I wear the undershirt inside out. Additionally, it seems the neck tag is sewn in with the same stitching that keeps the neck trim in place, so it will be hard to get all of that stiff tag out without damaging the silk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by HG1Beach from Too short!! This is a terrible top! The quality of the silk is good however, the cut is absolutely awful! If you have breasts, this top will not work for you. I am 5"4, 36D with a 27 inch waist. This top does not go past my belly button. This means that it does not do what it is supposed to do- keep me warm! You cannot tuck it in, it's way too short. It pulls itself up throughout the day exposing my back and midriff to the cold under my sweater. It's awful. Also, the hem along the bottom is stitched with a tight immovable interlock so it won't stretch at all. It makes no sense to have a silk underwear top have such a rigid and tight hem. The whole thing is a mess. Very poorly designed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HusbandSaysIamGorgeous from Perfect in Every Way ... And Then Some! Lovely silk fabric is very lightweight and does not add bulk. I purchased to wear under blouses and form-fitting turtleneck sweaters to add warmth to my core. The scoop neckline will show under a blouse with three buttons opened, but it is very pretty so you may not mind. It dries quickly on the hanger or laid flat on a sweater screen. The XS Misses fits my 5'2 / 139 lb /34B frame. A size Small Misses would also be fine for a looser fit. A nice surprise ... Since it is a bit sheer, wearing it "alone" turns it into nice lingerie for a quiet evening at home with the spouse! The "illusion" effect of the material makes everything look twenty years younger!

Rated 4 out of 5 by KSDoglover from Scoop neck is too high At first, I thought that the relatively high scoop neck wouldn't be a problem After all, it's winter - I'm not wearing low neck blouses... However, it shows with almost everything I've tried it with, and unfortunately, those are the blouses for which I NEED its silk warmth. I'll make do with what it is, but I'll be looking elsewhere for something that will fit with "normal" blouses (they're NOT low cut!) I must add, though, that it's amazing how it keeps me warm on a cold, winter walk yet does not make me too warm inside (when I don't have time - or forget - to take it off after my walk).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wimbledon from Extraordinary! I have been wearing silk underwear from LL Bean for almost 30 years now. Never been disappointed. I ordered the silk pointelle camisole in deep port and the color is fabulous. But laundering silk is no easy task. Here's what I have learned over the years: -If machine-washing, ALWAYS use the most delicate cycle available on your washer -ALWAYS wash cold, or coldish -ALWAYS use the mildest high-quality detergent available on the market (the kind for lingerie) -ALWAYS select a low spin speed -NEVER use baking soda (tried it once, still regret it) -ALWAYS line-dry

Rated 4 out of 5 by TexasSPQ from mixed review First the positive aspects: well made, nice fabric, not bulky, warm. I bought a size larger than my regular size because my experience is that silk tightens up when washed, even if air-dried. Next, the aspects that need work: The camisole is too short. This picture makes it appear the camisole is significantly longer than it really is. I want it more than a couple of inches below the waist of my pants. Also, the tags are really scratchy and will outlive the silk by generations. Either go back to the softer tags of many years ago OR sew them in with different colored thread so the user could see how to remove them easily without damaging the garment. If you are tall, long-waisted or well-endowed, you may have trouble tucking this in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cold from WAY TOO SHORT I have been buying these camisoles for years, but no more for me. They used to be long enough that you could comfortably tuck them into pants, but for the last 5 or so years they have shrunk length-wise each year. Now they still fit fine in the bust and waist, but are miserable to wear cause they won't tuck into pants (and I'm not tall - 5'4"). LL BEAN, please bring back the old camisoles and publish the length so we know you have done that. I won't buy another of these till I'm sure you lengthened them!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Laughter1 from silk undershirt I wore this undershirt many years ago and loved it. I stopped buying it because I felt silk was a bit extravagant, and switched to cotton undershirts. This Christmas I decided to treat myself to the silk again, and was sorely disappointed. The shirt barely reaches my waist??? Otherwise it fits fine, but I can't even tuck it into pants because it's so short. I gave it to my 5'2'' mother, and it's fine for her. I'd only recommend this to SHORT women, with SHORT torsos.
