Rated 3 out of 5 by Gardengirl from Jury's still out I purchased this jacket at the Flagship Freeport store the summer of 2019. I'm a 5'4" woman, weight 175 lbs. I wear a woman's plus size 2 x and the men's jacket in a 2x regular fits well. I've bought Bean's men's size shirts, fleeces and jackets for years. They're often less expensive than similar items in women's plus sizes. I've just tested this jacket during Maine's Nov. 2019 Arctic Blast and found it, layered with a flannel shirt, to be comfortable. The men's size sleeves are long. I just roll them up. The zipper is not a two way--meaning it doesn't open up from the bottom. Today I noticed white stuff on the sleeves. It isn't snow. it's fill from the jacket that is coming out through the fabric. When I try to remove it by pulling, the filling continues to come out. Pros - nice style, long enough to cover backside, quite wind resistant and hood works for me. Cons - zipper should open from the bottom for comfort when sitting (while driving) and I'm not sure what to think of the fill migrating out from where it's supposed to be to the outside of the jacket! Would I recommend this jacket to a friend? Too soon to tell.

Rated 1 out of 5 by drew from Cheap & Flimsy Zipper Unlike other jackets I've purchased from Bean, this jacket was just not up to their standards. It has very little insulation but the main problem for me is the zipper. The zipper is very small and flimsy and plastic. When the jacket is zipped and I sit down the zipper splits open from the bottom.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Chick from Misleading description The information on this page about this jacket indicates it's warm from +45 down to -5 degrees. This jacket is paper thin, and is comfortable when outside temp is above 45 degrees but below that it's almost like not wearing a jacket. The sleeves do not have closures to keep out wind and there are no straps to tighten around the waist, either, so if there's any wind blowing you're going to feel it...and you gonna be disappointed with this product. Even without wind, it's still not very warm. In addition to not being warm, the hood is gigantic and when it rains and the hood was placed over my head, the front of the hood covered my eyes and nose. Not very convenient for driving..or even seeing. In addition, there is no inside pocket and the (only) two outside pockets are shallow and insecure. It is easy to lose whatever is stashed in the pockets if you bend over I felt like the company's description was for another product, certain it did not approach my expectations based on the description. If you want a warm jacket, stay away from this one. I just counted my experience as an $81 mistake and a lesson to not rely on descriptions provided by the seller.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tokyomac from Spring / Fall jacket "packed it with PrimaLoft insulation". One would hope that the description would be honest. It only is, at best, thinly insulated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Doctor from Jacket Mine has a hood, not shown in your picture. The fit is a little too tight around the mid section and I'm not a big guy. The zipper separates at the bottom and is really annoying. Other than that....... I'm out of state (milder Wx) and ordered it to wear to work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Musicman from Disappointing I’ve been getting all my coats from LL bean for years and was excited to get this jacket with a hood. However, I was so disappointed with the fit: sleeves just a bit too short and way too tight at the waist. Also felt much to light for the temps advertised on the website. I’ve never had this problem with LLBean before. The jacket is going back tomorrow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BeanShopperFromNbpt from Ok The inside secure pocket is a zippered pocket inside one of the outer (open) pockets. A zippered pocket inside the jacket would be much better. Took me a while to even find the pocket.
