Rated 4 out of 5 by dnauhei from Good, but . . . . I normally wear a size 8/5 or 9. Size 9 was much too big so I got a size 8. It's a touch too small--a bit narrow. I am going to go with it and hope they break in, but I wish they had half sizes. Also, there is an edge between the rubber lower and leather upper. This is uncomfortable. Nature of the shoe I guess, but know what you are getting. And the shoe feels spongy, not a fan of that feel. I will be using these a lot more in the fall and winters--it is summer now--so we'll see. They were back ordered and it took months to get them. Overall, it is a quality shoe and attractive, but I wish it was more comfortable and fit better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by pwalm from Terribly designed Not sure if anyone at LL Bean has actually tried these boots on before deciding to ship them out. They definitely fit very large, so I ordered a size down (I'm a men's 9 so I ordered an 8). The rubber part of the boot around my foot fit just fine, but the leather upper around my ankle was absurdly large: not big enough to tuck your pants in, but way too big to get your pants over and around it. Also: your ankles have zero support. Tried them on when they arrived and immediately wrapped them up and sent them back. I've worn the normal bean boot for years, so in comparison these are just... bad. Do not buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by birdman22 from Slippery when wet Pros: Great construction. good fit as long as you follow LL Bean's instructions. Comfortable. Look nice. Cons: And this is why I give them 1 star. They have zero grip on wet smooth surfaces such as tile. I had a pair 30 years ago and they had the same issue. I had hopes they had chaged their boot rubber chemistry but they have not. The pair I just bought have the same issue. I have other boots that have no issues on any surface wet. I cant even walk through my kitchen when they are wet on the soles. These boots are made to be wet, hence the name "duck boots", but what good is a wet boot if they have no grip? The boots have good grip on any rough surface when wet, but what boot/Shoe doesnt?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jack1710 from Awful After shopping and having a few pairs of LL Bean boots I thought these would be a great option. After ordering the same size as all of my other boots I got these and they slip on the heel. You can never get a normal fit. To go along with that the insides of these boots are so stiff that they rip your feet up. I have received cuts and blisters from these boots. Very disappointed they should make these with better padding in the inside. This experience could make me not shop with them again. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Karen from The top of Boot is way big I have been ordering boots for almost 30 years. But These bean Boots (I ordered 2 pair and both my son and husbands fit terrible . The top of the boot is so wide you literally could put your foot in and fit a tennis ball in the top of the boot...I never saw anything like it. Honestly, I think they were defects that got sent to me. and now the hassle of sending them back. Im leary about ordering them again. They were just really that bad. Love LL Bean, I grew up with bean boots since I was 8 but these boots were just way weird. sorry...

Rated 5 out of 5 by Elkreek from Typical High Quality When I saw that a Chelsea style Bean Boot was offered, I jumped on it. This is my sixth pair of Bean Boots since the early 80's. The leather is supple and comfortable and they slip right on. They work best with thick socks. I could not count all of the LL Bean products that I own (some are inherited) and they are all of the highest quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Millbo from Perfect for the Job In rainy No Cal (recently) I wanted these slip on boots to sit by the door for quick trips to drop off kids, go to the market, take the garbage out etc during a rain storm. Mission accomplished. I have a wide foot, size 11.5 4E, I normally buy size 12 wide. Here, I bought size 11, and with a thin sock they fit fine with very little heal wiggle. This is not a boot for hiking in. I am very happy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Cenz from Meh Bought to replace 35 year old 10" lace ups that the seams are rotting out allowing water in. Thought these would be a good alternative. Bought a size smaller. The forefoot fits fine but the heel does not. I can wear the heaviest socks I own, tried heel cups and thick moleskin but the heel still slips. Not good for walking any distance. The top of the boot is so large that it does not stay under the pant leg allowing rocks, dirt, & water to get in . I'll probably just duct tape the old duck boots.
