Rated 5 out of 5 by Jam1e from Perfect 'slim' fit throughout I ordered 38x32, for reference my sizing is: typically 36-38 waist for jeans/casual pants, 38-40 for suit pants. I have athletic/"I lift weights but like to drink beer" thigh/butt. I think the product design team really got it right with the cut of these pants. The design is more 'tailored' than skinny, which to me means a close cut without looking skin-tight. No baggy/loose areas, nor tight/restrictive from the inner thighs to waist. The waist sits a tad higher than your typical low-rise jeans and allows for a clean look with a tucked in shirt. The waist is about on part with most 38 jeans.

Rated 3 out of 5 by review from Slim Straight Fit Pants Previously I'd purchased and enjoyed wearing an older version of these pants - about 18 months ago. The RN is 71341. VN 1000996. These pants seems to be the closest, but the fit is not the same, and not really similar. The waist sits lower and baggier, causing them to sag and require a belt. The lower leg is also baggier, so it sits rumpled around the upper shoe. My request would be that you once again produce the pants that I enjoy wearing so much. It could be that you changed your fit formula, or just your manufacturer. At any rate, I'll be shopping around to find something similar from another brand in the meantime.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WhyCantWeBeAnonymous from Nice overall, just a few comments/oddities... Nice pants. Canvas is stiff at first, but does break in over time. They are a bit dressier than jeans, which is why I like them. Two things to note though: one of the back pockets is a fake pocket (I ripped out the stitch so I could use the pocket), and the waist is that double button closure (button on the inside in addition to the outer button above the zipper). The buttons feel really loose and I'm afraid they will be the first things to break. These are also very long. I'm 5'6" and even the smallest inseam length still is a bit too long to look crisp with dress shoes. They do seem to get a bit baggy in the knees for me. Perhaps that has to do with them being a bit long. Might just be a short person problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2003Phillies from casual, great fit and durability This is my second pair of these pants, and I really love them. They are a great alternative to jeans when you want to be casual, but not worry about wearing nicer khakis. The fit is perfect for me (6'2", 180lb, 32" waste) and actually makes it look like I have a butt! They are quite durable, being canvas cloth, but also stylish. My only complaint is that the buttons are sewn on feebly, which seems to be the case with many of my LLBean clothes in the last 2-3 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lama from Buttons These fit like modern pants. I'm decidedly not modern so they were a bit uncomfy at first (low on the waist, trim on the butt and legs). My quads aren't what they were 30 years ago, so ok around the thigh. If you're a pro hockey player these will get stuck mid-femur. I got used to them and like the fit. The color is really good - so good they charge more for it or discount the less popular colors. Why "Buttons" in the title? This is the second pair I have bought having left an uncapped felt pen in the pocket of the first pair. Both pairs lost the two buttons that close up the waist within weeks. You'd think they could get that right for $75. Thus the 4 stars instead of 5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by asdf from Affordable alt to more expensive canvas trousers I love the Light Saddle color of these trousers. I found the waist ran a bit smaller than expected, especially when compared to the Signature Washed Canvas Cloth Shorts. I found that the inseam shrunk by about 1/2"–3/4" after washing, which makes them look a bit like high waters at times. If ordering again, I'd definitely order a longer inseam and hem after washing if necessary. I'd say the slim description is apt; they're not skinny, but you also don't look like you're about to set sail with all that extra fabric in the tigh, knee, and calf. It's definitely not a relaxed fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MarkFromScottsdale from Poor Quality Though these pants were a good fit, and not too tight, it didn't take many wearings before the inner waist button tore out. Mind you, the thread holding it in was just fine, but the material that they sewed it too just tore out. I did my best to repair it, but with the material already torn behind the button, it only held for a couple more wearings before it tore out again. Needless to say, I am not thrilled with the product and would not purchase it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by XLTK from Nice Pants! If you're looking for pants that fall in between regular and skinny fit, LLBean's slim fit would be a good choice. They're nicely tailored and the canvas material looks great. I'm 6'6" at 180lbs and the 34"x36" were a perfect fit. I've had the regular style canvas khakis for 4 years and they still look brand new. So I'm confident these will wear the same.
