Rated 5 out of 5 by scrapking from A Fall and Winter tradition My uncle in Northwood, New Hampshire told me about these pants some 25 yrs ago. I recall we were loading wood into his basement and he said "you've got to get a pair of these lined pants". I got my first pair a few years later, and have since had jeans and chinos, and still wear them both! When I put them on, I know its fall and its become a tradition for me. Clearly, the fact that they are still around (patched in both knees) is a testament to their build and wearability. You won't be sorry, they perform as advertised, and I am HARD on pants, believe me. I tried to keep a pair clean for work, but it's useless, they become my go-to and are work-worn before I know it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DeltaTango from Wrinkle, but nice! these are great...purchased first pair Fall of ’09, light khaki color..... wear 'em every day (minus laundry)... they do wrinkle...look a bit casual when not ironed / starched... but are warm, cozy, and comfortable. Never had lined pants prior to these, but these are wonderful. Wish there was another color for the lining (perhaps red tartan?) I bought an inch longer and cuff the bottoms, not necessary...but look nice! They are soft, warm, and comfortable....going today to store and purchase a second pair in the darker Khaki color....The flannel lining is soft and roomy… as I would think that fleece lined would be too thick / to warm. GREAT PANTS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by TravelerTim from Like wearing PJs all day So warm. So comfortable. Like wearing comfy pajamas all day long. Highly recommended!!! 8 stars. The only thing that could make these pants better is if they came with a roaring fire, a comfy chair, a bowl full of your favorite pipe tobacco billowing sweet smelling smoke whilst reading an instruction manual about how to carve things out of wood. These pants should be served with all the bacon and eggs. Notice I said all the bacon and eggs. These pants are the bees knees. When I wear these pants I imagine lumberjacks whistling America the beautiful whilst sawing down a tree larger than your house. I think sandalwood would be a great scent to pair with these pants. These pants would be great to wear on a northern hunting expedition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dris from Just what I was looking for I live in upstate NY (though NOT in one of the 'killer' snow belts, thank gawd...) and I take my dogs out for a hike in the woods every day for a couple of hours. This time of the year, it gets really C O L D some days, which is why I bought these lined Chinos. I've had them for two weeks now and they work like a charm in keeping me comfortable, outdoors and inside. I'm on the stocky, robust side (yeah, short and overweight - go figure) but L.L.Bean sizing was spot on. So far I haven't needed to layer up underneath them and I've been out in the low teens a number of times, keeping toasty and warm. I will likely order another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mark4491 from Fantastic! I live in Chicago and would have a terrible time with the winter if it were not for these very comfortable and warm pants. I wear them usually from November through March, and they are amazing. The fit is perfect, they don't shrink, and they last for years. The one thing I would request is that them available in olive and black. I have navy and dark khaki. Why they are not available in olive and black I don't understand. Regular Double L Chinos are available in olive and black, along with the other colors. Otherwise, these are incredibly great pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tiggy from Lined Pants I have been buying these pants for at least twenty years. They keep you warm in the fall to spring. My weight goes up and down so I have them in several waist sizes. They don't seem to wear out, and the new ones are stain free as are the non lined ones I wear in the summer. I like the ones that now have the little expansion waist as my waist is really a between sizes 37-38. I go out the door out to dinner as a 37 and come home 38. Well, this is available in other sizes to. By the way I just put them in the washing machine and tumble dry them and they come out looking pretty good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Catechumen from Not so flannely I own several pairs of these pants - bought over the last two years or so. I have two gripes about them: 1) Though warmer than traditional khakis, the flannel lining is not particularly napped or flannel-like. Yes, there is an extra, soft-ish layer because of the lining, but don't expect your legs to be surrounded by super soft flannel. They're nice and they're warmer, but the lining is not quite what I expected and I wish the lining had more of a brushed/napped surface to enhance warmth. 2) In the days of yore (i.e. in the '80s and into the '90s) Bean used to use the same tartan flannel to line these khakis as they used for their Tartan Flannel Shirts. That lining looked really great (I think they used a Dress Gordon tartan back then and Royal Stewart for the lined jeans) and I wish they offered it instead of this nondescript blue/beige plaid (pretty blah stuff). Imagine these khakis lined with Lindsay, Black Watch, Dress Gordon, or Royal Stewart tartans - it would be a thing of beauty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NoteBook from Double L lined chinos These are not the pants to wear to a formal dance, but they're excellent if you want to keep warm on a very cold windy wintry day. And if you're keeping your house or workspace on the healthy but unfortunately cool side, these are fine indoors, too. Yes, of course they're more bulky than unlined chinos and they won't hold a crease long enough to get your picture taken, but that's not the point. They'll keep you warmer than ordinary wool office wear. All in all, they live up to the L.L. Bean description of them.
