And it still gets better with age. In fact, customers rave about the "impeccable quality" and tell us that these shirts just get more and more comfortable over the years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by farmgirl63 from What has happened to quality I use to love Bean's shirts for my husband. It was all he use to wear...until the last three I purchased. Two of them ripped out in the elbows after just a few wearings and another black and white check that was written up as being a chamois was some kind of woven material that just fell apart. I just tossed out the last shirt that was a fall color plaid along with the blue/green one. He is still trying to get some use out of the black and white one holes and all. I haven't purchased another shirt since. I am going with another company instead. Too bad because we use to love these. The older shirts are still going strong. What happened Bean?

Rated 5 out of 5 by TxAggie74 from Try Washing I am a 6'3" tall, 215# man and I wear a size 46L coat. I purchased this chamois shirt in apple cinnamon color and regular XL size. Like some of the reviews I read, when I received and tried on the shirt it was large with the sleeves a little long, shirt tail a little long and the collar a little too big. I thought about returning it, but instead my wife washed it according to the care instructions. It now fits perfectly and I'm delighted. I'm not sure if this will work for others, but it certainly did for me. I thought I'd give this review and pass the information along for what it's worth.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ASisco from sizing is way off I bought three of these flannels at the same time two of them are supper soft and very thick flannel, the third the one in blue is not the same material. It is more of a course woven fabric versus a soft flannel. also all three shirts were ordered in large, all three state on the tag that they are large, but all three shirts fit different. one is almost to my knees, one is extremely boxy compared to the other two and the third the arm length is about an inch and a half shorter. Might want to get some body out to El Salvador to see what they got going on down there. In the past sizing has been consistent for me, really not the case on these shirts, they are all over the map.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JJJ78 from Great feel, runs large I bought two of these, at the end of a warm winter. Not sure why I bought such warm shirts when it wasn't cold enough to really take advantage. But, I did because LLB flannels are always great and I wanted them. The reviews are correct; these run LARGE. I have a large size Scottish Plaid from LLB which fits well, but had to go medium with these. Even at medium, they are long. Probably for people that wear them as an outer shirt jacket. The only problem with having to go down a size is that the neck is just a touch tighter than it should be. But, I can see these 2 shirts being in my closet for MANY years to come and appreciated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ace1901 from Good quality bad fit The quality of the shirt is incredible. It will hold up for years to come. That being said the fit is very strange. I’m 6’1” and 175lb and got the small. Length is ok, maybe an inch short but not too bad. The chest fits perfect but then the shirt gets wider and baggier around the mid section. Your shoulders are wider than your waste. This shirt seems to be fitted the opposite of that. In addition the sleeves are easily an inch too short. Any elbow bend and the cuffs ride up your arms quite a bit. It’s very odd and uncomfortable. I want to buy another because the material and quality is amazing but I can’t see myself with the fit being what it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NHMountainMan from Blown away Compared to LLB’s “scotch plaid flannel” and even somehow the solid color chamois shirts, this feels, looks, and wears like it’s leagues beyond the others in quality. Thick but not too thick, hardy, soft, and handsome. It’s tightly woven cotton so while it’s tough and warm when dry, it absorbs water readily and WILL NOT KEEP YOU WARM IF IT GETS WET LIKE ALL COTTON. So this shirt shines on days that are dry, or when worn under a layer that will keep it bone dry. Just a little lesson for anyone willing to hear. This will be my go to cotton flannel going forward. I only wish they made a Malone/Adirondack plaid, a Stewart, and maybe a blackwatch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Vicar from Feels great, not durable This is the second of the 'new generation' of Chamois men's shirts I've purchased in the past two months. Both look good, feel great and the generous fit works well layered over my clergy shirts. Both shirts snagged and ripped in the first month of wear and not on sharp objects but something so mundane as the corner of a kitchen counter top. When I compared the 'new generation' fabric to two of my older chamois shirts, I found the new ones to be of a softer hand but flimsier material. My wife mended the first but after the second snag and tear, I'll sadly be returning both for a refund.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kreitz86 from Nice quality but HUGE SHIRT Love the LL Bean quality but I can't believe how big this shirt runs. I'm 5ft10" athletic build and always wear a large. I got the large and it looks like a tarp! It literally almost goes down to my knee caps. I got one of these a few years ago and returned it due to the sizing issue that others have reported. I was hoping they would've listened but apparently not. Love their shirts but unfortunately they're way way to long and goofy looking on me so I will be looking elsewhere. PLease LL Bean fix the sizing!
