Infants' Ultralight 650 Down Bunting is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits the Bill This piece is fantastic when used correctly. There is not enough down in the suit to be very warm by itself in frigid weather but we have not used it as such. Rather it is light enough for the house or those warm winter days; It is thin enough and slippery enough to use under a warmer outdoor suit; the two sippers allow for some great temperature control of your little sea urchin and folds out of the way for meals or not binding up in car seat; And the suit is thin enough to wear in a car seat as the down will compress and you will get the proper amount of snugness with the car seat belts. If I were to have one suggestion I would ask that LL Bean makes the foot box a little larger for thick sock or big feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Snowsuit I love this - it is warm yet amazingly thin, so it fits well under car seat straps. I got the 6-12 month size and it fits my 7-month-old perfectly (he is on the bigger side). The hood also fits well with a hat under it. I love that he is so warm in it - he is outside a lot because we walk my kindergartener to school every weekday. So we use this a lot! I get compliments on it everywhere I go. I would recommend this to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect! First, the suit itself. The Good: Perfect for carseat. PLEASE read up on bulky snowsuits and carseat safety. Sizing is big. Needed to exchange the 3-6 for the 0-3 for my 6 month old, who's lean but long. Yes it's super warm (we're in Ottawa!) but doesn't seem to "trap" hot air. Our kid fell asleep in the car seat and when he woke up he wasn't sweaty despite wearing layers inside the suit. Baby won't be lying in snow for hours so not too concerned that this isn't waterproof. He's sat on the snow a few times and the suit dries within minutes. I'm super picky about baby gear and this one was my final choice after looking at all the other down snowsuits Recommended Improvements: Provide more detailed sizing (ie. length, inseam). Longer zipper. Tighten the hood. The whole point of the elastic hood is to create a cocoon wrap, but the sizing is off, at least for us. I know my baby isn't super big but there's a huge gap between the hood and his head. Perfect if he had a ski helmet on I guess ;p This was my first online LL Bean purchase. I didn't realize returns from Canada would be processed very slowly (original shipping was super fast) and was panicking about not having a suit when the cold weather hit (mom and baby trapped indoors bc of a missing snowsuit is no joke). I called LL Bean and they sent a new suit immediately. Without going into all the boring details, the rep truly addressed all of my concerns and responded in the most polite and helpful way. I was really blown away by the level of customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight - no bulk for car seats Looking for something to keep an infant warm in our cold winters that did not create an issue trying to get our grandson in a car seat. This worked perfect. It does run big. I ordered both 6-12 month for a five month old. it was way too big. I reordered the 3-6 month. It will get him through the winter. I am keeping the other for next year!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from For cool days, NOT cold days Bought this for my 16 month old to play in outside this winter. Had been working great while the mild weather lasted here in the Chicago area (40 to 50 degrees, no wind). With real winter setting in, the bunting alone isn't cutting it. Played outside yesterday (35 degrees and strong winds) with normal clothes, a warm hat, and the bunting over top and my daughter was shaking with the cold after only 10 minutes. In the future will try layering a winter coat on top of the bunting. This has been great for quick trips in the car though. The bunting is compressible enough that I can buckle her securely (I tested by buckling her in with normal clothes, took her out without loosening the straps, then buckled her in with the bunting unzipped with no problems). Dropping my older son off at preschool used to be on and off with her coat three times. For such quick trips in and out, the bunting is much less hassle and seems sufficiently warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I knew that LLBean baby things tend to run large so I bought the 3-6mo size for my smallish 10 month old. It fits perfectly. My little guy is wearing it daily as his fall/winter coat and it keeps him toasty and isn't overly bulky for carseats, the ergo, etc. My one tiny complaint is that the fabric is very slippery and I always feel like I'm going to drop my baby when I'm carrying him in this!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I wanted to love it I thought this would be perfect for Boston winters for my baby who was born in August. I tried it on him when he was 2 month old and the 0 - 3 seemed like the best fit because the arms and legs are quite long. However, now that he is 4 months old the arms and legs are still too long. But the biggest drawback is that the zippers do not go down far enough and it is a HUGE struggle to get him in the coat. If the zippers were longer I would give it 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ideal for an infant This was the perfect snowsuit for an infant. It was not a bulky suit so would be OK in a car seat. The suit also has cuffs that fold over the feet so you don't have to worry about shoes falling of a baby in the cold weather. We were delighted with this suit.
